Pipe Organ Discovery Day
TCAGO's outreach to young musicians

Pipe Organ Discovery Day is a program of the Educational Outreach Committee of the TCAGO and is free to participants. Young artists, and their parents as well, are encouraged to attend. Pipe Organ Discovery Day provides students with previous piano or organ experience an opportunity to learn more about the instrument and, very importantly, to expand their knowledge with hands-on experience on a variety of instruments. As part of the day’s events, an educational program on the pipe organ is also provided.

This video from the 2012 event at Wayzata Community Church gives a sense of the experience offered to students. In 2011, the host church included a summary in their newsletter.

These programs are typically offered each February and usually run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.mon a Saturday. The programs are offered at various churches around the Twin Cities metropolitan area in order to provide students an opportunity to play a variety of pipe organs by several builders. Registration and schedule information will be posted here on the TCAGO web site in advance of each event.
