TCAGO MID-WINTER TUNE-UP (FREE)

The Twin Cities American Guild of Organists (TCAGO) is pleased to present a MID-WINTER TUNE-UP with Dr. Kim Kasling, S. Anita Smisek, and Dr. Paul Westermeyer at UBS Forum, MRP Building, St. Paul MN (480 Cedar Street).

SCHEDULE:

8:30-9:00 AM: Hospitality & Registration

9:00-10:00 AM: Dr. Kim Kasling: 175 Years of Organ History in Central Minnesota. A visual narration of the rich history of organ building in central Minnesota, a history influenced strongly by early German settlers and the work of the Benedictines.

10:15-11:15 AM: Sr. Anita Smisek, OP: Czech and Czech/American Church Music. A specialist in Czech music shares highlights of her own discoveries and publications of Czech church music.

11:30 AM-12:30 PM: Dr. Paul Westermeyer: Presentation on his new book Church Music in the United States, 1760-1901. An overview of the book, its genesis, responses, implications, and discussion.
